Brooks Falls Bear Viewing & Photography
Our Brooks Falls trips generally operate with a maximum 5:1 guest-to-guide ratio.
Full Day – $250 per guest

*Full days are subject to available transportation times with pick up & drop off availability.
- Booking transportation through us gives us the opportunity maximize time possible in Katmai Park with the Bears.
- To make the best use of our guides and ensure availability for all guests, King Salmon Lodge reserves the right to combine parties into shared guided groups of up to five guests per guide.
- Guests interested in having a guide exclusively for their party may request a private guide. Please inquire with our team for private daily rates and availability.
- Lunch at Brooks Falls – A prepared box lunch is included with your guided trip. Guests may alternatively purchase a buffet-style lunch at Brooks Lodge on the day of their visit at their own expense.
*Transportation for guests and guides to and from Brooks Falls is not included in the guide rate and will be quoted separately.
Remote Fly-Out Bear Viewing
For guests looking to venture farther into the remote wilderness of Bristol Bay and Katmai, private aircraft can provide access to exceptional bear habitat well beyond Brooks Falls.
Full Day – $600 per guest
- The increased guide rate for remote fly-out trips reflects the additional wilderness safety responsibilities, specialized training, preparation, and risk management required when guiding in isolated locations with limited infrastructure and emergency access.
*Aircraft charter and transportation costs for guests and guides are not included in the guide rate and will be quoted separately based on destination and aircraft requirements.

- Alaska’s brown bears are wild animals in a natural environment, and wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. Bear activity varies based on season, weather, salmon runs, food availability, and other natural conditions.
- Our guides will use their knowledge of the area and current conditions to provide the best viewing opportunities possible, but King Salmon Lodge cannot guarantee that bears—or any specific wildlife—will be seen during a guided trip.
- All bear viewing activities are subject to weather, transportation availability, wildlife activity, destination requirements, and other conditions inherent to traveling in remote Alaska.
